COD SMS Verification Opt-In Policy

Overview
When you place a Cash on Delivery (COD) order through our Shopify app ("COD Verifier"), you agree to receive transactional SMS messages to verify your order. This policy explains how we use your phone number and your rights regarding these messages.
What Messages You'll Receive
By providing your phone number at checkout and selecting Cash on Delivery as your payment method, you explicitly consent to receive:
- Order verification codes via SMS or WhatsApp
- One-time verification messages containing a numeric code to confirm your order
- Order status updates related to your COD verification (optional)
Message Frequency: You will typically receive 1-2 messages per COD order placed.
Example Message:
"Your order #1001 verification code: 847392. Reply with this code to confirm your COD order."
Your Consent
How You Opt-In
You provide consent when you:
- Enter your phone number during checkout
- Select "Cash on Delivery" as your payment method
- Complete your order
By completing these steps, you authorize us to send SMS verification messages to the phone number you provided.
Opt-Out Instructions
You may opt-out of receiving verification messages at any time by:
- Replying STOP to any message
- Contacting our support team at contact@leanrise.com
- Choosing a different payment method for future orders
Note: Opting out may prevent you from placing Cash on Delivery orders, as verification is required for order processing.
Message and Data Rates
- Standard SMS and data rates may apply based on your mobile carrier's plan
- We do not charge for sending these messages, but your carrier may charge you for receiving them
- Check with your mobile carrier for details about your messaging plan

- Your phone number (as provided at checkout)
- Verification codes sent and received
- Message delivery status
- Order information associated with verification
How We Use Your Information
Your phone number is used exclusively to:
- Send order verification codes
- Confirm your COD order legitimacy

- We use Twilio as our SMS service provider
- Your phone number is shared with Twilio only for message delivery
- We do NOT sell, rent, or share your phone number with third parties for marketing purposes
- All data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy
Data Retention
- Verification data is retained for order fulfillment and record-keeping purposes
- You may request deletion of your data by contacting us at contact@leanrise.com
